Rode iXY (Lightning) iOS microphone

General

The Rode iXY (Lightning) is a stereo microphone that can be plugged directly into the Lightning connector of your iPhone 5, 5S or 5C. Thanks to the XY-setup of the microphones, the iXY Lightning operates in a comparable way to human hearing. This means that you can simply position this iOS microphone wherever the sound is received best by your own ears. Via the two sensitive condenser microphones, a detailed recording of a concert or interview is created. You can use the free Rode Rec app to register the audio in 24 bit/96 kHz quality. An accessory pouch lets you easily take the iXY with you, wherever you go.

iXY Lightning: from concert to video recording

The iXY is expressly suited for crystal-clear, lively music recordings, be it in an intimate pub or a stadium. As the input level can be adjusted, even the loudest sources are registered without distortion. Furthermore, this stereo microphone is ideal for filming with a DSLR camera with video functionality. Use a separately available RodeGrip to mount your iPhone on the hot shoe of the camera and with the iXY you can create professional video recordings in no time. Recording meetings and sound effects are also valid options, however.
