The Gonkulator returns! Digitech have reissued this overdrive/ring modular pedal, giving guitarists the option to add brilliantly bizarre gonks to their sound once again. This unique effects pedal mashes up overdriven frequencies to create entirely new sounds and, unlike the original Gonkulator, allows you to customise the frequency range to make it match the key you're playing in.

The DOD Gonkulator Modulator: Otherworldly

Whether you want to experiment with tone or simply recreate 'Glass' by Incubus, this DOD pedal has you covered. To help you gonk up your sound, it's been fitted with Gain, Distortion, Output, Ring and Frequency controls (formerly Suck, Smear, Gunk and Heave). Finally, it's worth mentioning that the effect is also available for the Digitech iStomp and can be picked up in the App Store.

Prima levering van Bax en verder leuk pedaaltje, maar het heeft niet de geluidskwaliteit die ik er van had verwacht. Ik wilde met de Gonkulator mijn EHX Frequency-Analyzer pedaal vervangen in mijn rig. De EHX heeft als grote nadeel de noodzakelijke 40Vac adapter. Dit is linke soep wanneer je per ongeluk deze adapter op je 9V pedalen aansluit.
De gonkulator heeft een cut-off frequentie die te hoog ligt voor lekkere lage beat frequenties van de ringmodulator. Verder is het gain-kanaal parallel geschakeld aan de ringmodulator. Ik had liever een serie schakeling van ring en gain gehad. Met de gain op nul is er nog steeds een aanzienlijke vervorming hoorbaar. Verder wordt de mengfrequentie van de ringmodulator niet voldoende onderdrukt en blijft hoorbaar als een hinderlijke fluittoon. Het laatste hinderlijke punt is de belachelijk heldere blauwe LED, die het kijken naar het pedaal op een donker podium onmogelijk maakt. Daar hebben meer pedalen tegenwoordig last van...

vet pedaal met een lekker vet origineel "verkeerd" geluid. enige minpunt is dat je er geen expressie pedaal op aan kunt sluiten om de frequency te regelen tijdens het spelen. daarom ging ie retour en heb de MOOG MF RING gekocht. kan een expressie pedaal in maar daar zit geen distortion op.

Echt een geweldige trapperje! Het pedaal is voorzien van een dikke overdrive die erg goed klinkt. Daarbij is de ringmodulatie echt geweldig, je kunt er heerlijk bizarre en rare sounds mee creëren. Gewoon zitten en lekker experimenteren. Het enige wat ik jammer vind is dat je er geen expressie pedaal op kan aansluiten. Dat had hem net afgemaakt.

Uiteraard bedankt Bax shop voor de geweldige service!

Gonkulator... The name sounds a little nasty, but luckily that isn't reflected in the effect it produces. At least, according to some. The DOD FX13 Gonkulator Modulator, the infamous grunge distortion/ring modulator for guitar players, is back! After some twenty years, Digitech reinvisioned the guitar effect with the remarkable name and sound as a stomp box.
