General
Traditionally, the shape of a chorus or vibrato effect is a simple waveform. Typical shapes are triangle, sine, square wave and sawtooth. But wouldn't it be great if you were able to 'draw' your own waveform? In the 1960s you could - Korg had developed a special pedal for that exact purpose. Unfortunately, only a limited number of these pedals were made, so their characteristic sound has become like the holy grail for guitarists. However, with the Nuvibe vibrato/chorus pedal, Korg has breathed new life into the old, legendary pedal! In fact, the Nuvibe was developed under supervision of the original pedal's designer.
Possibilities of the Korg Nuvibe
Controlling the Nuvibe is easy: just use the ten sliders to 'draw' a waveform. From a neat triangle to a completely random pattern, you can go as crazy as you like. The speed and intensity can be set by means of large knobs, while foot switches let you turn the effect on or off, and switch between vibrato and chorus. With the Nuvibe you're able to create modulation effects that range from nicely subtle to completely over the top. The Korg pedal is powered by an (optional) adapter, or by six AA batteries (included).
