General

For any guitarist working with a board of pedals running through an effects loop, this next-gen ISP Technologies offering will be a welcome revelation. The Decimator X G-String pedal can not only be placed before the preamp, but after it. First, hook your guitar up to the fitted 'Guitar In' port found on the side of this solid stompbox, then link the 'Dec Out' port found on the other side to the amplifier input (any pedals you usually place before your amp can be placed between the 'Dec Out' port and your amp). Now you can simply link the Send port of your amp FX loop to the 'Dec In' port and couple the 'Guitar Out' port of the pedal to the Return port of your amp (while adding any reverb, delay and other modulation pedals in between) - then, you can stand back and behold the glory that is clean and transparent sound!

The ISP Technologies Decimator X G-String: Zero Noise + Organic, Sustain-rich Sound

Once set up, the central and only control pot can be tweaked to set your preferred Threshold level and get rid of all of the annoying noise that's usually associated with stacked overdrives and distortions. Unlike most noise gate pedals, the Decimator X G-String leaves every chord and note sounding organic and naturally sustained rather than brutally cutting everything off and, thanks to Time Vector Processing technology, the tracking response of the noise reduction even adjusts automatically to match your playing style.
