Gator Cases GTSA-MIX12PU 12U Polythene Case for Mixers
Arrived from BAX with pop up frame jammed underneath the two right angled bracket that should act as travel stops. Plastic is so flimsy that lifting using handle adjacent to travel stops permits this to happen, when mixer is fitted and then it’s very difficult to release.
Only one handle on right hand side to lift or move case when in situ.
Right hand ratchet failed to release at first gig
Left Hand ratchet jammed solid at second gig – had to be removed to drop mixer
Lifting strap broke at third gig
I’ve replaced both ratchet stays myself for less than the return shipping cost under warranty – these are standard units not a patented design, however they are fitted incorrectly and without an essential component which is why they will never work properly and always fail to release or jam. I have also sorted out the travel stop and handle issues.
Do not buy this case it is utterly useless without four essential fundamental design changes.
I wish SKB still made their pop up case – it was brilliant and they had a lifetime warranty which they honoured in full.
