Warm Audio take direct inspiration from classic '70s American-made preamp punch and detail in the tight shape of the WA12 MKII Black. Ok, so it's not the seventies any more, so how can you justify getting an extra external preamp when your audio interface probably comes loaded with them already? Essentially, because while standard-issue interface preamps do a great job, they're not designed to produce fine art. They are designed for squeaky clean performance which sometimes leaves a signal feeling clinical, and in the best, the instrument or vocal will simply sound exactly like it did when performed, just a touch louder. The Warm Audio WA12 MKII Black preamp is an entirely different story. Everything you record is shot through with '70s style attitude, and you can even push the signal for a light and warm overdriven effect. Besides an XLR input, it even provides a Hi-Z jack input so a guitar or bass can be directly connected.
