This GSR M-85 II Bass features an elegant Cherry Red nitrocellulose lacquer, and is based on the classic M-85 from the '60s, only with more unique, luxurious details. The semi-acoustic Guild GSR M-85 II Bass

The M-85 II Bass features a compact Aristocrat-style hollow body with a single cutaway. Mahogany was used to fashion the body, which is joined by an arched laminated spruce top. Thanks to the parallel tone bars inside of the body, the top has plenty of strength without sacrificing resonance. As you can imagine, this results in a hearty semi-acoustic bass with a full, open sound. You'll find that the short-scale neck of the M-85 II Bass consists of two parts of mahogany with a strip of maple. It has a comfortable shape and features a 21-fret rosewood fretboard with a 9.5-inch radius. A set of high-quality Gotoh tuners guarantees stable, supple tuning performance.

Double pickups and details

With the Guild M-85 II Bass you get twice the power and performance that you would with a single-pickup M-85. This model is equipped with not one, but two large Bi-Sonic pickups, each with its own volume and tone control. Additionally, there's also a 3-way pickup switch, as well as a 2-way switch that you can use for compressing your low frequencies. The bridge is a unique combination of a bridge and a tailpiece in one, with four adjustable rosewood saddles for that woody tone. Multiple layers of bindings along the body and the Chesterfield-style inlay under the Guild logo on the headstock complete the picture.
