A reporter's microphone does not lead a simple life - it needs to be used in all kinds of weather, without the quality of the recording suffering. Happily, Sennheiser have developed a reporting microphone that can do just that. Its cardioid pickup pattern ensures clear intelligibility in noisy environments. The capsule is designed to ignore wind and ambient noise. All in all, this is an ideal reporter mic.
To ensure the durability of this mic, the MD 46 is provided with a metal housing and a rugged grille, which protects the grille among other things. Handling noise is eliminated by the compact shockmount that holds the capsule, so that you can hold it without any problems. Furthermore, it can handle high SPLs.
