Way back in the eighties, Roland introduced the SDE-3000 Digital Delay. This studio-focussed rack unit was loved immediately for the unique sound but since it came in a 19 inch format and the price was pretty high, access to its magic wasn't exactly available to the average musician. But that time is long gone, because Boss now unveil the SDE-3 Dual Digital Delay, which takes the iconic sound of the original and tucks it up inside a classic compact stompbox. What makes this delay pedal extra special is the addition of an Offset pot - tweak it to create interplaying stereo effects by fine-tuning the time-difference of a dual delay.

The Boss SDE-3 Dual Digital Delay: Boss-Style Ease

Like every Boss offering, it seems, the Boss SDE-3 makes everything as easy and intuitive as possible. So, besides controls for the Level, Feedback and Time, you also get to determine the Depth, the Rate and the Hi-Cut. So, while the original rack unit was known for its crisp repeats, you can use the Hi-Cut filter to add a little extra warmth as preferred. Next to all of that, you get a tap-tempo switch and an extra jack port for hooking up an external expression pedal, giving you deeper hands-free control.

Every Connection

The Boss SDE-3 is definitely a stereo delay, kitted out with stereo inputs and outputs so it can be linked and set up every which way. Use the maximum 1600 millisecond delay time by going direct from input A to output B, or use the MIDI IN and set up MIDI clock synchronisation. With this pedal, you can even set the carryover of the delay streets via a switch mounted on the rear.

Erg goed pedaal. De delay is goed instelbaar en de klankkleur van het delayed signaal is in te stellen met Offset en Hi-cut. De sound benadert het echte werk van duurdere delays. Voor offset wel de handleiding lezen. Er is veel mogelijk.
