General

The Truetone (formerly Visual Sound) Time Bandit is a handy little device that primarily converts audio click tracks into a tap tempo signal. You feed this signal directly to a delay pedal (e.g. the Truetone Tap Delay), as long as it has a jack connection for an external tap tempo pedal.

The Time Bandit: click track converter and BPM generator

The Time Bandit has a built-in BPM generator, so you can also send a self-set number of beats per minute to the delay pedal. Use the control knob and the LED display to select the desired BPM value. The Time Bandit is powered by an optional adapter, such as the 1 Spot.

Wrote the following about Truetone Time Bandit tap-tempo synchroniser

One trick pony, maar o, o wat kan de pony dit trucje goed. Sluit de Timebandit aan op de externe tap-tempo ingang van elk willekeurig effect (meestal een delay), stel het aantal bpm in en klaar is kees. Nog mooier, de Timebandit accepteert ook een externe click en functioneert zo dus als "doorgeefluik" tussen de click en de delay. Ook live zeer goed te gebruiken want de rotatieknop is erg groot en het afleesvenster superduidelijk. Een RTS jackplug krijg je er gratis bij, want die heb je natuurlijk wel nodig.
Werk je met taptempo's en sta je nog "ouderwets" te trappen in de hoop dat het een beetje klopt? Hou daarmee op, schaf dit ding aan en je taptempo's kloppen tot op de milliseconde.
