Thanks to a bidirectional pickup pattern, this is an interesting microphone to position between two toms, or for registering the ambience of a space. Een top microfoon voor een mooie prijs , ik gebruik deze voor cello dit ism een kleinmembraam microfoon in piggyback opstelling ( zie soundcloud , recordingmods).ook voor vleugel werkt hij goed.
Vleugel opnamen met twee ribbons in blumlein opstelling zullen u verrassen.
Zelf sluit ik hem het liefste aan op de art tube mp vorversterker, dit is echt een super duo.

Goede ribbon mic voor de prijs - maar je mag hem inderdaad niet vergelijken met een condenser of dynamic. Ribbons worden als eens als "donker" omschreven om dat ze meer bereik hebben in het laag. Als mic voor room of gitaar-amp opname geven ze een extra kleur om mee te werken of zijn ze complementair als 2e mic (zie ook andere review).
Kwaliteitsvol gebouwd, afwerking voelt allesbehalve goedkoop. sE maakt gewoon zeer goede mics!

Heb de X1R gekocht op aanraden van een vriend, deze mic gebruik voor het opnemen van gitaar amps en bevalt me erg goed. Altijd fan geweest van de Shure SM57 (nog steeds) maar de SE Electronics X1R is net wat warmer. Ik gebruik nu de combinatie SM57 en X1R. Ik ben blij verrast met de kwaliteit.

Super mic. Deze Ribbon is op alle plekken inzetbaar. Veel Ribbons hebben problemen met lage input impedanties van de preamp. Deze presteert echter stukken beter dan bv de GA R1 Mk1, die pas echt tot zijn recht komt met b.v. een Triton Fethead.
Het geluid is zeer natuurgetrouw. (Ik gebruik hem zelfs vaker dan de AKG C414XLS, maar dat is een kwestie van smaak natuurlijk)
De X1R is zeker gezien de prijs een regelrechte aanrader!
