General
The Fender American Elite Jazz Bass is at the top of the heap in terms of American bass guitars. This J-Bass has a luxurious Champagne finish and a maple fretboard on a maple neck, both of which are compound in keeping with the rest of the Elite series. The fretboard compound radius goes from 9.5 to 14 inches and the back of the neck has a compound radius as well that goes from a Modern C to a D as you go up the neck.
American Elite Jazz Bass: ergonomic and noiseless single-coils
The neck of this bass is joined asymmetrically to the body, and the heel is more ergonomic than ever before, allowing better accessibility to the higher frets. The pickups on this bass have also been upgraded to two active Elite Deluxe Noiseless pickups. What hasn't changed, however, is the unmistakable sound of the Deluxe Jazz bass. This Elite J-Bass has ultra-quiet single-coils that range from deep lows to crisp highs. The improved Dual Action truss rod at the 21st fret features a spoke nut for easy adjustments. This bass comes in an original Fender deluxe shockproof case.
Fender American Elite bass guitars
The guitars and basses from Fender's Elite range are premium models, just like the Fender American Deluxe models. These iconic models have received a number of upgrades in terms of technology and design with no expense spared when it comes to attention to detail, quality and finish. Fender American Elite models have a traditional look with brand-new Deluxe Noiseless pickups and state-of-the-art playing comfort.

Fender knows like no other that you never change a winning team. Besides a few little adjustments here and there, they usually don't mess with their successful models too much. Until now. The famous manufacturer decided to get rid of the Deluxe name and re-brand it with the slightly classier Elite moniker. Of course, this also goes with a few adjustments for the various Teles and Strats, as well as the Jazz, Precision and Dimension bass guitars.
