A nice pair of rods for drummers and percussionists: these Whisper QSticks from QPercussion. The Whisper rods are particularly suitable for soft, subtle playing. They sound like brushes but have just a bit more power. Especially on cymbals, they give just a bit more 'body' compared to brushes. These orange rods are the thinnest and therefore also the softest sounding rods made by the Dutch company QPercussion. As for the thickness of these rods; it can be compared to the thickness of regular 7A sticks.

QPercussion - QSticks

QSticks are made by hand from a very sturdy and flexible type of wood. The rods have been given a double lacquer coating, making them last a lot longer. The fact that they are made by hand is nice: each pair receives the same care and attention, guaranteeing quality. QSticks are available in six different colours, each available in three variations: coloured, neon coloured and in natural wood. Each colour has its own sound and volume range. For example, use the yellow version for lighter, mellow playing and the purple for solid, hard work. The colour code is useful if you have several rods; the pairs can be quickly identified.

The rubber ring allows you to adjust the sound per stick. Slide the ring further towards the handle to give the rods a bit more air for a lighter sound, or slide the ring towards the top for a firmer, more focused attack. For optimum rebound, better stick control and to protect drumheads, the top of the QSticks is rounded. QSticks are used by numerous well-known international drummers and percussionists. Among others, Alex Acuña, Hans Eijkenaar, John Engels, Joost Kroon, Gijs Anders van Straalen, Martin Verdonk, Adam Nussbaum, Louis Conte and Cesar Zuiderwijk regularly carry one or more sets of the QSticks in their stick bags.
