Pioneer has paid close attention to the way DJs methods have evoleved over the years. These days, a DJ is not only a performer, but also a producer who should be able to create tracks and remixes on the fly. To do this, you need the right tool. Ladies and gentlemen, may we introduce the Pioneer Toraiz SP-16 Sampler. The SP-16 is a hardware sampler and 16-step sequencer that has plenty to offer on stage as well as in the booth and the studio. It's equipped with an intuitive touch screen and a clear layout for easy navigation and a smooth workflow. A particularly awesome feature are the analogue filters that have been based on Dave Smith's Prophet 6 synthesizer.
The Pioneer Toraiz SP-16: Ready to Go It Alone
This Toraiz SP-16 can function as a stand-alone device by loading samples from the 8GB internal memory using the USB port. Pioneer has generously provided 2 GB of Loopmasters samples so you can get started right away. Create up to 256 patterns with the 16-step sequencer or trigger loops and one-shot samples while the velocity-sensitive performance pads, which you'll probably recognise from Pioneer's controllers, allow you to assign different colours to your samples, loops, and patterns. You can even sync the Toraiz using Pro DJ Link to your CDJ so it functions as a master deck.
Dave Smith Filters
Pioneer worked closely with Dave Smith to develop the unique filters in this sampler, which are based on the legendary Prophet 6. That means you can let your creativity run wild while these filters provide your mix with rich, analogue warmth. Using the touchstrip, you can control various parameters like pitch-bending, stretch and amp envelope. A 7-inch full-colour touch screen provides all the information you need which you can then adjust and manipulate using the six rotary knobs. The SP-16 also features an 8-channel mixer, which makes it even easier to integrate this sampler into your setup.
