D'Addario Woodwinds Select Jazz D5M mouthpiece for alto saxophone

D'Addario Woodwinds created the Select Jazz mouthpieces with the music of the 1940s and '50s, the heyday of jazz saxophone, in mind. These mouthpieces have been developed for alto saxophone that have the same feel and sound in them. The chamber and track length of this mouthpiece are medium-sized. The D5m has the smallest tip opening of this series, at 1.86 millimetres. The classic jazz sound and intonation is possible across the entire range and can be applied to all jazz styles.

Milled from hard rubber

D'Addario Woodwinds has developed a special hard rubber for these mouthpieces. Using computer-controlled machine technology, the mouthpieces are milled from solid pieces. This ensures great consistency in production and only very marginal deviations. Due to the small tip opening, the reed speaks easily, and the tone will be small and round. The Select Jazz mouthpieces are intended for advanced and professional musicians.
