Every mouthpiece has its own specialty. This Yamaha MP SS 7CM soprano saxophone mouthpiece, for example, is excellent for jazz, as it produces rich, powerful volume with accurate attack.

The Custom series

Yamaha's Custom series is the next step after the Standard series - one of the main differences being the material used for the mouthpieces. The Custom series models are fashioned from ebonite, which is a hard vulcanised rubber with woody musical properties. Yamaha consulted with experienced musicians for help developing these models, to offer you the most fine-tuned pieces possible with excellent sound, performance and intonation.
