General

Guild is reliving the good old days with the T-50 Slim. This extra-thin hollow-body guitar is the first Newark St. Collection model without a cutaway. Its design is based on the old Guild classic with the same name from the '50s and '60s, which was characterised by its 44.5mm-thin hollow body and its single pickup. This model features a vintage-style sunburst finish and has all of the authentic Guild details, such as the harp-style tailpiece and Chesterfield inlay on the headstock. Now you can experience a true fifties sound with the Guild T-50 Slim.

Guild T-50 Slim: arch-top hollow-body

Just like the original, this modern rendition has a body made of laminate maple, with an arched top and back. Ivory-coloured body bindings bring it all together beautifully, and contrast nicely with the dark part of the sunburst finish. Because the body is only 44.5 mm thin, the Guild T-50 Slim is easy to amplify without any sort of feedback. Furthermore, the neck is built of two plies of mahogany for extra stability and warmth, and it features a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid position markers.

Electronics and hardware

The T50 Slim by Build is equipped with a low-output dog-ear style single-coil pickup. The pickup produces a bright yet warm sound that lends itself fantastically to music styles such as jazz, blues, rockabilly and even rock. Along with the characteristic f-shaped sound holes, you'll also find the classic Clear Amber volume and tone knobs. The bridge featured on the T-50 Slim is a modern Tune-O-Matic with a rosewood base, and it's combined with Guild's harp-style tailpiece. Finally, an oblong black pickguard with a golden Guild logo completes the picture.
