Yamaha Live Custom Hybrid Oak Fusion Shell Set (Charcoal Sunburst)

What makes the Live Custom Hybrid Oak-series kit a hybrid, is the layering of wood and phenol. The plastic layer is added between every third layer of oak and on both sides, to pull more focus and attack from the wood. As such, this kit has the hefty sound you would expect from oak but with added sustain and dynamics. With a fusion configuration of a 20x16-inch kick drum, 10x7 en 12x8 inch toms and a 14x13 inch floortom, this kit is unquestionably built for the stage. This shell-set has a Charcoal Sunburst paint-job, finished nicely with traditional Japanese UZUKURI and dark silver hardware.

Hefty Kick

It's not just the choice of materials that determines the sound. The kick of this Hybrid Oak kit delivers a more focused pulse due to 2kg worth of Bass Enhancement Weights added to the inside of its shell. On the outside, the kick is tightened with die-cast claws around the wooden tension edge and a ball mounted double tom holder is on top.

YESS III and Wing Bolts

The toms are mounted via the YESS III hanging system. This special system reduces unwanted leakage of vibrations and maintains the sound and sustain of the toms themselves. The tight and efficient, 2.3 mm Dyna-Hoop tension edge with Remo Emperor heads installed, ensure fast response. Specially designed leg brackets, held fast with Absolute lugs also reduce any vibration leakage from the floor tom.
