Yamaha have poured decades of experience into the premium Custom Hybrid Oak Series of snares. This handmade 14-inch diameter and 5.5.-inch deep snare has been coated in a Charcoal Sunburst lacquer that still gives space for the wood grain to shine through. Since this is a 'Hybrid' snare, the intense focus and attack its able to produce is shaped by three plies of oak either side of a single layer of phenol. The result is a combination of the solid low-end expected from oak but with enhanced resonance and dynamic range.

The wood and phenol combo isn't the only feature that gives this snare its immense power. Since the lugs have been separated and individually bolted to the tension hoops, the resonance has much more life, so you're getting a much more open sound. The 2.3mm Yamaha Dyna Hoops are also easily tuned, offer a wide tuning range, and like the rest of the hardware, have been finished in a nicely dark chrome to complete the tight and subtle aesthetic design of this stage-ready drum. This Custom Hybrid Oak snare also comes pre-fitted with Remo Ambassador heads.
