General

The NUX Optima Air harbours an acoustic guitar simulator equipped with a preamp that can boost acoustic as well as electric guitars. Additionally, this advanced bit of kit features two footswitches: an IR footswitch and an AMP footswitch. The latter toggles the preamp, while the IR footswitch is used to call up preselected IRs. This unit simulates acoustic guitars the optimal way, depending on the type of guitar and fitted type of pickup, while the preamp itself has been outfitted with a 3-band EQ, a Gain control and an extra Reverb effect. You're even free to create your own IR files by recording the sound of your favourite acoustic guitar and, so you can hook all sorts of gear, the Optima Air comes finished with an XLR DI output, a headphone output and an AUX input.

Een fantastische aankoop. De presets vind ik persoonlijk slecht. Hierdoor geef ik het een sterretje minder. Waarom toch vier sterren? Je kunt namelijk je eigen sounds uploaden. Gemakkelijk aan te sluiten op je Pc/laptop. Ik beschik over een paar goeie sounds en kon die heel eenvoudig toevoegen. Hierdoor kan ik veel betere opnames maken voor mijn akoestische gitaar. De kamer waarin ik opnames doe is niet zo super qua akoestiek maar dankzij deze pedaal is dat geen probleem. Live heb ik het nog niet uitgetest.
