General
Earthworks' omni-directional TC20 is a microphone designed for the loudest instruments such as drums, percussion or amplified instruments. You won't easily reach the maximum volume this microphone can handle, as it has an SPL rating of a whopping 150 decibels. It also doesn't suffer from the so-called 'proximity effect' so you can record at very close distances. Because it has an omni-directional directional characteristic, it records the same amount of sound from all directions. This also makes it ideal as an overhead or room microphone. Its wide frequency range allows it to record all details faithfully.
