General
If you want to capture every last detail, then go for the Rode NT5 small-diaphragm condenser microphone. In addition to a focussed cardioid pickup pattern, this pencil mike features a half-inch gold-plated diaphragm plus a JFET preamp for low noise and a high output. Despite its high sensitivity, the NT5 can be used to record loud instruments since it can handle sound pressure levels of up to 143dB, which is just about as loud as a plane taking off. The Rode NT5 comes complete with a clip, a windshield and a pouch.

De perfecte richt microfoon om binnen te gebruiken. Doordat de mic geen shotgun heeft is het geluid veel strakker met minder resonantie in de lage tonen.

Bij het opnemen van een EP in de studio in Haarlem een paar maanden terug deze Rode NT5 condensator microfoon meegenomen en gebruikt (setje van 2) als overhead voor drums. Het is belangrijk deze microfoon goed te plaatsen. Aan te raden is een relatief grote afstand van de cymbals. Dit omdat de klankkleur dan mooi helder uitkomt op de opnames. Deze micrfoon geeft een mooi helder geluid en snijd goed door de mix zonder veel aan te passen met een EQ.
Als je kijkt naar de prijs van deze microfoon en de kwaliteit die je ervoor terug krijgt is dit een zeer hoogwaardig product. Tenzij je veel hoger gaat zitten in je budget krijg je niet snel meer "bang for your bucks".

Deze Rode NT5 microfoons heb ik een paar maanden geleden gekocht. Ik heb ze gekocht om voor overhead microfoons voor mijn drums te gebruiken. ik heb er mee opgenomen in een home studio en het resultaat is verrassend goed!
Echt mooie microfoons met een goed en helder geluid. Ik ben ook blij dat ze een 10 jaar lange garantie hebben. Ook voor piano en gitaar is hij erg goed geschikt. Een erg goede microfoon in zijn prijsklasse.

Het zijn niet de aller beste microfoons op de markt maar als je betere wilt dan moet je ook wel heel wat extra geld neerleggen, voor een AKG 414 ofzo. Voor de prijs zijn ze geweldig!
