General
The Sennheiser MKH 50-P48 microphone is the super-cardioid version of the MKH 40-P48. Extremely focussed, this shotgun mike efficiently suppresses sound coming in from the rear and sides, making it a great spot microphone as well as a solid pick for soloists. The phantom-powered MKH 50-P48 also boasts extremely low self-noise and features a roll-off filter that can be activated at will to compensate for close-range proximity effects (+/- 0.5m).
