Eric Singer should need no introduction. The current KISS drummer has played with many famous names including Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Gary Moore and Badlands. He's been endorsing the Pearl brand for more more than 30 years, so it's no surprise that he has designed his own signature snare drum model. Naturally, it's been built to handle heavier styles of music. Perhaps best of all, Pearl and Eric Singer will donate the proceeds from sales to a good cause - the Lifeline Education Charter School in Compton, California, who'll use the money for music and art projects.

Pearl ES1465S Eric Singer Signature Ltd 14 x 6.5-inch snare drum

Eric Singer is a collector of vintage gear and he's particularly keen on Pearl's old Jupiter Chrome snares from the '70s. That's why he's given his own snare a similar yet more modern sound. The shell is also based on the Jupiter models with a thickness of 1 mm, a diameter of 14 inches and a depth of 6.5 inches. It's mainly the thickness and depth that dictate the volume and power you get with this snare.

Shell hardware

While the shell is based on the original Jupiter snare drums, the shell hardware is not. The ES1465S is equipped with a modern, handy Click-Lock strainer and the SuperHoop hoops ensure a robust attack with plenty of body and stable tuning. The CL bridge tension rods also play an important role in this. Finally, each snare has been personally signed by Eric Singer himself.
