General

With a snare drum like this 15-inch Recording Custom RRS1455 by Yamaha, you'll be sure to cut through the mix in any musical genre thanks to the unique tonal characteristics its brass shell provides. It can sound relatively warm and deep, or bright and shrill, almost timbale-like, depending on how you use it. In general, Recording Custom snare drums are excellent value for money, and very popular with professional modern-day drummers. Even drummer god Steve Gadd has a signature model from the Recording Custom series!

Yamaha Recording Custom Brass 13 x 6.5-inch snare drum

This 13-inch snare is made of 1.2mm-thick brass, which gives it amazing sound projection and a broad volume range sounds as if it's made of maple. It's 6.5 inches deep and offers excellent resonance thanks to the 45-degree bearing edge. The 2.3mm Dyna Hoop ensures stable tuning and great resonance as well. All the hardware on this snare is chrome-plated and it comes complete with Remo Ambassador drum heads.
