Hal Leonard The Real Book Volume I (Bass clef)

This is the 'Bass Clef' edition of the famous Real Book Volume I. That is, the melodies of the 400 jazz standards are notated in the F clef, or bass clef. The chord symbols are, of course, identical to those in the version for C instruments. The 464 pages of this popular first book in the three-volume Real Books series are held together by a practical ring binder.

Real Book Volume I: the 'sixth edition'

Publisher Hal Leonard gave 'Sixth Edition' as a subtitle to The Real Book Volume I. This is a reference to the widely used fifth edition for which (as with all other Real Book editions before 2004) no royalties were paid to the composers. With the Sixth Edition, Hal Leonard published the first legal Real Book. The song list is largely the same and many an error has been corrected.
