The Italian brand dB Technologies have done it again. The ES 503 is a truly remarkable one sub and two speaker system that, on the face of it, looks fairly simple. Each speaker is equipped with four 3-inch woofers and can function as a line-array configuration for excellent audio projection. Combine these speakers with the sub, and you've got a powerful line-array module that can take on large audiences. A deep-diving, low range is provided by the 12-inch woofer of the sub, which also comes with an integrated 1,000 Watt amplifier. This system is not just comprehensive but portable and easy to set up.

Look a little further and you'll find three combo XLR/jack ports fitted to the backside of the subwoofer where microphones or line signals can be connected. The integrated DSP engine offers smooth and detailed adjustment of the audio reproduction, and can also be used to match the output to the acoustics of the space using a set of presets. An additional output is also provided for hooking up a second system, and, to plant it firmly in the present, a Bluetooth module is fitted so a mobile device can be paired for wireless audio streaming. Also reassuring, is the fact that the subwoofer is housed in sturdy wood and the speakers are made of highly durable plastic, protecting the excellent build of the internal components from the rigours of the road.
