Wrote the following about Devine Onyx 15SXA Active Subwoofer

Excellent sound. Heavier than I expected, but provides a very stable base to the Devine12 speaker. Plenty of options on the inputs. If I have any cause to complain about this speaker, it's things like not having a through power connector, like a C13/14 pair. The stencilling on the label could do with being a bit brighter and larger, because it's going to be dark round the back.

Really meaty sub, bigger and heavier than I expected, but not unmanageable. Niggles... wish it had a through C14 power connector, or Neutrik pair because you ARE going to use this with a pole and main speaker for sure. But the range of controls and options makes this super versatile. The stencilled labels on the back could also be a little bigger and heavier because this is a beast you will want to put in the corner, and it gets dark back there.

I was admittedly skeptical about these, given how inexpensive they are. But I wanted some small speakers I could mount on the walls of my studio space for when I was rehearsing with my band. I had my full 1600w PA set up in there, but it was taking up too much room (plus the hassle of having to constantly take it down and set it up whenever there are gigs on), so downsizing to 4 100w speakers, and I was unsure.

I've been powering them on a 1600w powered mixer, and I've been cranking the volume up, and up, and up. I am actually quite astounded by how much punch these things have. 10 years ago, a 100w speaker at this price would have just been killed immediately with the amount of power I've been putting through these.

Would definitely recommend these to anyone looking a nice small speaker that looks good and sounds better. For installations in a pub or a restaurant, with 4 or more of these, they would also be fantastic.

With a bit of juice pumped into these, there is a proper thump from the bass frequencies. I thought a subwoofer was most definitely going to be required for any kind of bass, but I was very wrong there.

In december heb ik twee van deze subwoofers gekocht en ik heb er geen spijt van. Een mooie, stevige kast met een diepe bas die een goede aanvulling is op mijn tops.

Aanrader voor de amateur en semiprofs. Veel bas voor weinig geld.

We hebben 4 stuks van deze Onyx 8inch als top. in de thuiskroeg. In combinatie met een Onyx 15S sub. Perfect, hard genoeg, redelijk helder. De sub is wel echt nodig. De set staat in een thuisbar van 37m2. Door 4 van de topjes te gebruiken heb je het geluid ook goed verdeeld en met z'n 4en houden ze de 15Inch sub perfect bij.
De Onyx 15inch sub is actief de tops sturen we aan met een 4 kanaals versterker.

Echt voor deze toepassing is het perfect.

Deze set aangeschaft ter vervanging van een oude Behringer set die zijn langste tijd wel had gehad.

De sub is als ik deze afzet tegen de prijs behoorlijk goed. Eigenlijk in verhouding tot de 2 topkasten zelfs te zwaar. Sub gaat hard en strak ook op hoge volumes. Voor hetgeen ik de sub gebruik is een volume van de sub van minder dan 50% ruim voldoende.

De topkasten daarentegen hadden een tikje meer power mogen hebben. Deze kunnen de power van de sub vanuit mijn optiek moelijk bijbenen.

Echter gezien de prijs van de set en hetgeen je ervoor terugkrijgt een aanrader. Wil je iets meer besteden overweeg dan deze in combinatie met een set actieve topkasten (bijvoorbeeld de Devine Artis 12A 300 watt actieve luidspreker). Ik denk dat de set dan nog beter tot zijn recht gaat komen.

J ai fait la acquisition du caisson il y a un peu plus de six mois. Avec le recul d utilisation, je vais communiquer mon avis perso. Esthétiquement je le trouve sympa. Il est très lourd il faut rajouter des roulettes. Le son est bon couplé avec deux enceintes passives.Je ne l ai pas encore mesuré. A fort volume il ne grésille pas, le dsp est bien. Le seul hic, il chauffe un peu et il manque un ventilateur et la housse est vraiment trop chère. Je le trouve mieux que mon vieux powo et aussi bien que mes ld system sub 18 GT qui tapent pourtant vraiment forts.
