The Ibanez Artwood series is comprised of traditional acoustic guitars with contemporary features. With the Artwood Vintage series, however, Ibanez is looking to the past and the birth of the modern guitar. The AVN2-OPN is a parlour-sized steel-string guitar that takes us back the to the very first steel-string acoustic guitars. It has an all-solid mahogany construction and a gorgeous Open Pore Natural finish.

Ibanez AVN2: solid top, sides and back

The AVN2 is what you call an 'all-solid' acoustic guitar, meaning the top, sides and back are all made of solid wood—mahogany, in this case. As such, it resonates much better than any guitar with a body made of laminated wood, resulting in a richer sound with enhanced projection. What's more, the mahogany gives the Ibanez AVN2 a slightly warmer, sweeter tone than, for instance, the AVN1, which has a spruce top.

Ibanez parlour guitar features

The Ibanez AVN2 parlour guitar is characterised by its compact body and short 25" scale length. As its smaller body gives it a remarkably focused sound, this model is very popular among blues and folk guitarists. Thanks to its short V-shaped neck, the AVN2 is also a little easier to play, and it's compact enough to take on the road with you. Finally, the bone string nut and saddle and the vintage-style Grover tuners clearly indicate that this is still a high-quality instrument.
