If you thought mixing with headphones was impossible, then think again! The Sonarworks SW5VM Virtual Monitoring add-on for SoundID Reference 5 makes your headphones sound like super-expensive studio monitors set up in an acoustically-optimised room. Headphones don’t just split the sound into a left and right channel, but when you’re wearing them, you can’t hear the natural reverb of the room. While that may sound like an advantage, it actually makes it harder to make the right decisions when you're mixing or mastering, especially when it comes to determining the optimum volume level for your reverbs and delays.

Virtual Monitoring

Adding the Virtual Monitoring feature to your Sonarworks SounID Reference software gives you the pick of three speaker simulations: a set of nearfield speakers, a set of mid-field speakers and a massive set of far-field speakers. On top of that, this add-on significantly expands the Translation Check section, setting you up with realistic simulations of car stereos, TVs, laptops and smartphones.

Please note:

• This is NOT a standalone software pack. To use Sonarworks Virtual Monitoring, a valid licence for Sonarworks SoundID Reference 5 is required.
• Virtual Monitoring works only in combination with Sonarworks headphone profiles. It does NOT support speaker profiles.
