Bought these as a birthday gift for my brother as he is getting back into some mixing etc. Being a bit of a hi-fi anorak myself I did my research and felt happy that these speakers punch way above their weight in the small (nearfield) monitors space. I have some high end Focal speakers at home and knew their reputation for sound and build quality. I was not disappointed, my bro is 'over the moon' with his birthday gift and so is his missus as he spends most of his time at his mixing decks now! Great price and service from Bax music too.

I got it on sale and thought it was still probably an expensive toy... now I realize it's cheap at full price. The set up is a bit long-winded but it's very clear and obviously works, because the results are great. I thought I'd just be fixing a few frequency issues with my room, but honestly the biggest change was the difference it made to the stereo field - I'd never realized how off my centre was. Night and day, can't live without it now.

it's one of these things that once you do it, there's no coming back. My sound system now sounds crap if I turn this off. To be fair, my room has some serious acoustic problems, but I was still amazed by how well Reference handled them. my mixes sounds much better

Erg goed product! Zowel met koptelefoons als speakers een flinke verbetering van het geluid. Mijn studio is akoestisch verre van optimaal maar ik ben wel gewend aan de kamer. Echter met de plugin erover komen alle individuele geluiden een stuk beter naar voren wat het mixen enorm verbetert. Mijn mixen zijn meer in balans en ik kan de elementen beter plaatsen in het stereoveld. Wat mij betreft zeker een aanrader. Enige nadeel is dat het even een flinke investering is, maar uiteindelijk het geld zeker waard!

Na het akoestisch behandelen van mijn 'studiootje' wilde ik wel eens weten of ik het een beetje goed had gedaan.

Dus Sonarworks besteld om het eens te meten.

Best wel even een werkje met alle metingen die je moet doen etc., maar het resultaat is er naar.
Alhoewel de aanpassingen kwa akoestiek al een hele verbetering was, zijn dit de spreekwoordelijke puntjes op de 'i'.

Blij met het resultaat .... klinkt strak en gedefinieerd.

Ik gebruik deze monitors in mijn zeer kleine home studio (6m2), en ze zijn in één woord fantastisch! Prachtig transparant geluid, voldoende laag ondanks de 5 woofer (heb zelfs de LF filter moeten instellen gezien mijn kleine ruimte) en zeer gedetailleerd zowel laag, mid als hoog.
Zoals aangegeven zit er geen volumeknop op en zijn ze echt LUID, dus mijn audio interface waarop de monitors zijn aangesloten staat maar op 10% volume.
Ik kan de Alpha 50s zonder meer aanbevelen voor kleine ruimtes met weinig of geen akoestische aanpassingen.

Goede prijs-kwaliteit. We hebben in de winkel naar meerdere speakers geluisterd en deze beviel het meeste. Klein formaat, passen goed in een kleine ruimte. Tip: Draai eerst de volumeknop van je apparaat omlaag voordat je van headphones naar speakers omschakelt. Het geluid is wat aan de harde kant en de speakers zelf hebben geen knop.

Erg goede speaker. Heeft een mooi volle bas, in mijn kleine ruimte heb ik de bas een aardig stuk dichtgedraaid. Goed geholpen in de winkel in Rotterdam, want ik wilde eerst voor de 65 variant gaan en die waren veel te groot geweest. Bizar veel power in zo'n klein kastje!

Mooi spul. Goed te gebruiken en goed te co figureren. Mijn studioruimte is sub-optimaal maar dit helpt een eind in de goede richting. Werkt goed op de Mac en prima samen met Logic Pro x. Verdiep je even goed in de videos op YouTube (hey Bax, leuk om dat ook eens te linken in de product page ).

Ik denk niet dat ik nog zonder zou willen.
