General
The Genelec 8050 BPM is definitely a monitor to make you genuflect in respect! This powerful studio speaker produces a maximum sound pressure level of 220 dB, making it suited for larger post production studios and media applications that require a good, transparent sound for mixing. Thanks to the 8-inch woofer that kicks in at 35 Hz, you can also enjoy a 2.0 setup with the 8050 BPM.
Genelec 8050 BPM: sturdy and professional
The monitor features an active crossover, which is adjustable to provide any space with the perfect sound. More than adequate amplification is also provided, with 150 watts for the lows and 120 watts for the 1-inch tweeter. Distortion is as good as gone, and overload safeties have also been built in. The sleek surface also makes this speaker an attractive addition to your studio, and it helps the sound disperse optimally, thanks to the rounded edges. An earth-friendly stand-by mode has also been added, which will kick in when the monitor hasn't been used for an hour; though the monitor turns back on as soon as an incoming signal is detected. You'd prefer for the Genelec 8050 BPM to be on though, trust us.

Fantastische monitors !
Mijn mixen klinken nu al 200% beter.
Ik hoor sneller waar er zich problemen voordoen in het frequentie gebied.
Ze hebben een groot vermogen en geven bass zeer goed en nauwkeurig weer.

Ik heb als studio monitors altijd de Behringer TRUTH B2031A gebruikt waarbij ik vaak in het laag te veel correcties uitvoerde. Heb nu de Genelec 8050 en klinkt lekker helder en mooi strak, Voor een kleine studio wellicht wat groot maar geeft mooi het laag weer zonder sub. En heb nu mooi referentie tussen de twee speakers. Zeer Tevreden.

Heb diverse Genelecs geprobeerd maar was nog niet tevreden, m030/040 en 8030. Uiteindelijk ook op basis van info op het genelec community forum bij de 8050 uitgekomen en op slag wil ik echt niks anders meer. Ze kosten wat maar dan heb je ook wat! Als je vervolgens de instructies van Genelec qua ruimte akoestiek opvolgt heeft Genelec een zeer goede gratis te downloaden monitor setup guide voor dan haal je echt uit deze speakers waar ze voor bedoeld zijn, zowel instellen dipswitches als plaatsing. Vooral aan geluiden die natuurlijk zijn klinken precies zoals het moet zijn de speaker is er als het ware niet en je hoort gewoon bijvoorbeeld bos. Luister maar eens naar Yosi Horikawa op deze speakers en je zult wat beleven! Kabels was ook nog even zoeken maar Mogami is een erg goede combi met deze speakers vanwege ook weer het neutrale karakter. Dus zoek je absolute top monitoren voor een redelijke prijs dan moeten deze zeker op je verlanglijstje staan! Bax heeft me tot slot super geholpen met een vlotte levering dank daarvoor!
