Released in 1985, the Casio CZ 5000 is the pinnacle of Casio's CZ series of electronic keyboard instruments. With a polyphony of 16 voices, 2 digital oscillators per voice and 8-stage envelopes, this digital synthesiser offers a rich and distinctive sound that sounds sharp, metallic and typically 80s. The CZ 5000 features a 61-key keyboard, expandable waveforms and a built-in 8-track sequencer that lets you easily capture ideas or build complex patterns. Programmed via MIDI and equipped with chorus effects, this synth delivers expressive pads as well as distinct bass lines. Despite its digital nature and lack of filters, the instrument is praised for its quirky tone and intuitive programming.
