The Novation Summit is a synthesizer with a timbrality of two parts: 16 polyphonic voices and a keyboard. This flagship synth is loaded with three New Oxford oscillators per voice (subtractive, FM and wavetable synthesis) and there's an analogue multi-mode with 12/24dB filter per voice with dual-mode. The specialised keyboard gives you 5 octaves and the 61 semi-weighted keys with polyphonic after-touch. Another salient detail is the built-in effects: chorus, delay, distortion and reverb are available to blow your sound wide open and thanks to the stereo connection and routing options as well as aux connections, you can easily hook this synth up to a live rig or home studio.

Via the audio import function, imported audio can be used as an oscillator waveform to unique and inspiring effect.

Vaak getwijfeld over de aanschaf van de summit en de reden was dat de f.w niet goed was
toegesneden op de synth,maar dat is met de laatste f.w allemaal verholpen.
Resultaat..een vrijwel perfecte synth die jaren lang plezier zal opleveren..ook de editor is heel
goed en bied naast de library waar je eenvoudig individuele sounds kan downloaden of complete
banks ook nog eens een wave shaper waar je je eigen ding mee kan doen.
Kortom..fantastic..na al die jaren dat de synth nu al verkrijgbaar is heeft Novation de f.w geperfectioneerd.
Ben blij dat ik hem gekocht heb..en weet ook zeker dat ik hem nooit meer weg zal doen.

De Novation Summit,

Sinds ik mijn eerste Novation apparaat kocht enkele jaren terug (Een Launchpad Mini) was ik een fan van het merk; Goede en goed ondersteunde apparatuur waar je wat mee kunt. De Summit straalt kwaliteit uit, de knopjes voelen goed en solide, de buizing is stevig en redelijk zwaar met mooie houten zijpanelen. Het keybed speelt heerlijk (al is de aftertouch iets te zwaar naar mijn mening) en de modulatiewielen voelen ook top aan.

Er zitten vele knoppen op de summit die het mogelijk maken om heel veel functionaliteit zeer direct te bedienen zonder in menu's te duiken, dit maakt het super leuk om nieuwe patches te maken of bestaande patches live te bewerken. Het OLED scherm is simpel maar heel duidelijk en laat goed zien wat je aan het doen bent. Het is een krachtig apparaat met heel veel functionaliteit maar toch voelt het heel vertrouwd en duidelijk aan. Een ander pluspuntje is de opstarttijd, als het een seconde is is het veel :)

Tevens zijn er meer dan duizend patches gratis te downloaden via deze software. Alleen met de meegeleverde patches al kun je weken zoet zijn. De 2 layers zijn tevens los van elkaar bespeelbaar via MIDI op aparte kanalen waardoor je met de Summit eigenlijk gewoon 2 Novation Peaks tot je beschikking hebt, een super goede aanvulling voor elke synth setup dus.

Is het het geld waard is dan de vraag? Ik vind persoonlijk van wel.
