General

The body of the Kala U-Bass Fretted bass ukulele has been made entirely from Spalted Maple. The complex patterning is caused by a natural fungus in the maple, hence 'spalted', and hence the unique finish of every example of this instrument. Black binding has been added to contrast with the naturally light wood while the darker mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard are just as satisfying. A cutaway has been integrated into the body shape to allow easy access to the highest frets, and when plugged in, the active internal pickup delivers faithful amplified sound. This bass ukulele comes complete with a deluxe gig bag.
