General

The Wahter is a mini wah-wah pedal by Mooer. Because the pedal is so small, it barely takes up any space on your pedal board, which can sometimes be a problem with standard-sized wah-wah pedals. It also fits easily into the front pocket of a gig bag, which means you can have this wah-wah pedal handy at all times. When you fold out the two rings on top of this pedal, it creates a larger surface area to place your foot on, which makes it feel more like a standard-size wah-wah pedal. As far as sound goes, The Wahter delivers a classic vintage-style wah sound that suits both guitar and bass.

Not a foot switch

Besides its compact size, The Wahter has yet another unique characteristic: contrary to most wah-wah pedals, it does not have a foot switch that turns the effect on and off. Instead, this pedal relies on sensors that register when your foot is placed on it. When this happens, an LED light will indicate the effect has been activated. This means the effect will only remain activated when you want it to be. The Wahter is powered by a standard 9-volt adapter and is true bypass, so your tone won't suffer any colouration when the effect is de-activated.

Mooer The Wahter mini wah-wah pedal

Bijzonder degelijk gebouwde wah, ik was super enthousiast totdat ik het inplugde. Zodra je je voet erop zet, bij het in en uitschakelen van de Wah valt het geluid een paar milliseconden weg en hoor je een harde click. Daardoor voor mij helaas onbruikbaar. Als je bij het in- en uitschakelen niet speelt en helemaal stil bent dan zul je er geen last van hebben. Maar dat werkt voor mij niet. Jammer van zo’n stevig gebouwd pedaaltje, ik blijf voorlopig bij mijn switchless Morley Wah.
