The Shure BLX14R-P31 is an affordable and high-quality headset microphone system, and it's a very complete package, at that! It consists of a BLX4R receiver that can be mounted in a 19" rack, a BLX1 bodypack transmitter and a PGA31 headset microphone. This K14 version uses the UHF band between 614 and 638 MHz.

PGA31 headset microphone

This set comes with the Shure PGA31 microphone: a completely redesigned microphone that offers excellent comfort, allowing for extended use. Furthermore, it's constructed in such a way that you won't have to worry about it falling off your head. It features an electret condenser microphone, which means it has a permanent electrostatic bias. Shure have equipped this particular PGA31 with a cardioid capsule, meaning it picks up sound coming from the front (your voice, most likely), while suppressing ambient noise. This means that this set is perfect for use on a stage with floor monitors.

Ease of use

The rack-mountable BLX4R receiver has two external antennas. It uses diversity technology, meaning it's constantly checking which of the two antennas yields the best signal, and switches accordingly. Furthermore, the QuickScan function automatically scans for the best available frequency to switch to.
