General

If you are a big fan of analogue filters, the API 565 will make you very happy. This is a filter bank equipped with 3 types of filters where the frequency range is adjustable. You have a lowpass, a highpass and a notch filter at your disposal. With the latter, you can set the Q between 20 Hz and 20 kHz, which provides good control of the signal if you want to eliminate interference factors. The low-pass filter works with a steepness of 6 dB or 12 dB per octave and the high-pass filter with a steepness of 12 dB or 18 dB per octave. All filters are equipped with a bypass switch. With the notch filter, you also have a 3-position range switch at your disposal. The operating range of the lowpass is between 500 Hz to 20 kHz and that of the highpass between 20 Hz to 600 Hz. The output is balanced with the clipping level set at +28 dBu. Since we are talking about API, the well-known 2520 and 2510 op-amps have also been used here.
