General

Carved out of solid wood, the jumbo-bodied Guild F-512 12-string acoustic guitar effortlessly shapes that rich, full sound with near harp-like clarity, courtesy of a Sitka spruce soundboard that not only comes supported by Adirondack spruce bracing but a body made of solid rosewood to guarantee maximum warmth and an impressive, sustain-rich sound. Guild have been building 12-strings since the sixties and it's safe to say that all of that experience clearly shines through in the F-512.

Robust Elegance

The light spruce soundboard satisfyingly sets off the dark rosewood back and sides and has been sealed by white ABS binding. The mahogany neck, meanwhile, features a walnut centre strip and has been furnished with a rosewood fretboard which in turn has been adorned with mother-of-pearl inlays and abalone V-block position markers. Finished with a dark nitrocellulose scratchplate, a nitrocellulose paint-job and a subtle ring-shaped rosette, the F-512 comes fittingly complete with a Guild Premium Humidified Wood Case.

Onvoorstelbaar mooie gitaar. Nieuw gekocht bij Bax mede vanwege retourgarantie.

Echter, na het openen van de koffer wist ik al voor 90% zeker dat deze gitaar bij mij zou blijven. En bij het spelen van het eerste G-akkoord was het 100% zeker. Wat een gitaar, wat een klank, wat een afwerking, en hoe soepel bespeelbaar. Ik kan er werkelijk alleen maar positieve dingen over zeggen, ben 100% verkocht aan deze gitaar, is een blijvertje in mijn (kleine) collectie.

In 1 woord....WOW. Prachtige gitaar met een idem afwerking. De luxe koffer is de kerst op de taart.

Maar dan waar het echt om draait...de klank. Vol, helder en sprankelend. Mooie bas ook. Precies wat je van een 12-snaar mag verwachten. Niet versterkt klinkt hij al zeer luid. En ondanks de 12 snaren een hele fijne en soepele bespeelbaarheid.
