General

With the introduction of the F-55E, Guild serve up a jumbo-size electro-acoustic guitar with a Sitka spruce, an arched flamed maple back joined to flamed maple sides, and a mahogany neck topped with an ebony fretboard and a 43mm nut. The white ABS binding beautifully accentuates the contrast between the light wood of the top and the darker woods of the body and neck while, to complete the look, Guild have applied a few coats of glossy nitrocellouse lacquer and fitted gold-plated Deluxe Vintage Open Gear tuners and a tortoiseshell scratchplate for that classic, elegant touch.

Impressive Sound

While jumbo guitars naturally generate more volume than smaller-bodied guitars, the F-55E takes it a few steps further. The mix of different woods results in incredibly rich sound full of forceful bass tones as well as clearly projected mids and bright trebles. This broad-and-complex sound turns the guitar into a top-level instrument that can be used in any style of music, whether plugged in or not. The LR Baggs Anthem preamp has been linked up with a piezo pickup and an integrated microphone to render the F-55E ready for the stage, where the volume, mix, phase and tone controls can be adjusted to dial in your signature sound and counter feedback. As a thoughtful bonus, Guild include a deluxe hard-case with a built-in humidifier so this masterful guitar can be stored in optimum conditions.
