General
With the Lowden O20 Mahogany & Sitka Spruce, you get a hand-built acoustic western guitar designed for maximum tonal depth and expression. The O-body (jumbo), Lowden's largest body shape, is known for its powerful projection and full resonance. This makes the O20 particularly suitable for guitarists who like to work with a rich, spacious sound, whether in a fingerstyle context or in firmer strumming where every attack must hold up. This guitar can handle a variety of musical genres and also holds its own in fully acoustic settings in band settings. This is also a very attractive guitar for singer-songwriters, whether playing solo or accompanied by other instruments.
Wide sound and high-quality finish
The sound is formed by a solid spruce top combined with a mahogany back and sides, a choice of woods that ensures an open, direct response with a warm midrange and clear, controlled bass. Spruce (sitka spruce) delivers the necessary clarity and headroom in the process, while the mahogany keeps the sound compact and focused, without excessive sharpness in the high frequencies. As you might expect from Lowden, this instrument was built entirely by hand in Northern Ireland by experienced luthiers. That craftsmanship translates into excellent resonance, a comfortable neck and tuning that immediately invites you to play. Reliable Gotoh SG381 tuning machines and Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings (12-53) ensure tuning stability and long string life. The O20 comes with a sturdy case, allowing safe transport and storage of this high-quality acoustic guitar.
