The recent resurgence of passive speakers has reached the studio and to run them, you're going to need a solid amplifier. The Avantone Pro CLA-200 is exactly that. This Class-AB amplifier has been developed in collaboration with Chris Lord-Alge and as such, comes with a typically classic design. This 19" rack-mountable, 2U amp is dynamic, has a high output and just as high resolution besides a vintage reminiscent warmth. The face is populated with a pair of old-school VU meters and the potent guts deliver 200 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms, 300 Watts at 4 Ohms or 500 Watts at 8 Ohms bridged. The CLA-200 has a more than satisfying frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz.

Na decennia lang plezier van Yamaha maar eens iets anders proberen ook vanwege de prijs (Yamaha 6000,00 en Avantone 999,00) Snoertjes in gekort vanwege het buiten de kast plaatsen om warmte ontwikkeling en aansluiten.

Ik speel uitsluitend digitaal high res over mijn Dragonfly Cobalt direct naar de Avantone. Dit gebeurdt: goede middag meneer Dhiel mag ik u een wijntje aanbieden en de andere kwintet leden ook? En terwijl het kwintet lustig voort speelt schenk ik mezelf in en geniet, geniet, geniet.

Ook bij halfopen wordt de versterker niet warm (helemaal niet).
