Yamaha MGP24X 24-Channel Analogue PA Mixer

With the MGP Series, Yamaha has brought out a group of mixers to close the gap between analogue and digital. These fusion mixers have all the basics of an analogue unit but fitted with two digital effects sections and digital I/O USB ports. They also feature high-end class-A preamps modelled after authentic analogue circuits for a warmer, more authentic sound.

Digital Build, Analogue Sound

The MGP24X by Yamaha is a 24-channel PA mixer, and each channel is equipped with a 1-knob compressor for adjusting the sound source. The X-Pressive EQs reproduce the unique frequency characteristics of legendary equalizers so that this mixer produces a reliable sound. The easy-to-reach USB port on the top functions as a digital I/O, and you can use it to connect an external USB drive for recording the stereo mix. There's also an additional USB port specially equipped for your IOS device that you can use to stream real-time audio, adjust settings and change effects, and you can still use your device while it's uploading! The chip used for this is actually made by Apple so you can be sure that your device will remain compatible in the future.

Priority Ducker, Leveller and Stereo Image

All of the mixers from the MGP series have the priority ducker function built-in. This function automatically dims, or ducks, music from the stereo channel when a microphone is being used so you can always be sure that your audience will hear you. The leveller is a handy function that levels out the volume of different music sources so you don't have to worry about music from a CD and an MP3 player (for example) being drastically different from one another dynamically. Finally, the Stereo Image function corrects any balance inconsistencies that might occur when there's a large or uneven distance between the speakers. These functions make the MGP24X an excellent choice for permanent installations in hospitality businesses, schools and theatres. Because of its compact build, this mixer is also incredibly effective for DJs and bands on the road.
