IK Multimedia has developed a solution to that problem: the iRig Mic Lav lavalier microphone double pack for iOS and Android. That's two lavalier mics that you can clip to your clothing and connect to your smartphone. Now, you can be sure the entire conversation is recorded in full. Best of all - it all fits in the palm of your hand!
iRig Mic Lav: small and crystal-clear
Besides the fact that IK Multimedia iRig lavalier microphones are small and almost invisible, they also make very good recordings. Anything between 30 Hz and 16 kHz is captured thanks to an omnidirectional pickup pattern, which means it doesn't really matter what direction the mic is facing, it'll pick up audio from all sides. Use a windshield to prevent unwanted noise or wind disturbing your recording. The iRig cable of each mic is 1.5 metres long and goes through an interface which is then connected to either another interface, or directly to your smartphone. Multifunctional
Recording is no problem with this double pack. You can even monitor what you're recording by connecting a set of in-earsheadphones to the dual-purpose mini jack aux in, for example.

De app op Android is wel beduidend beter dan op de iPhone, daar moest nota bene voor worden betaald (4,50) als ik de opname wilde exporteren naar wav of m4a. Ook moest worden geregistreerd voor een bepaalde functie. De Android app is geheel gratis en kent minder 'quirks'.
Geluidskwaliteit is prima.
Let op dat het een TRS stekkertje betreft, dus niet geschikt voor standaard opname apparatuur dat een mono signaal verlangt. Vooral voor smarpthones/tablets dus, waar je normaal gesproken een headset op zou kunnen aansluiten.
