The latest addition to IK Multimedia's range of ingenious bits of kit, the ToneX One mini-pedal is essentially an amp modeller and USB-C audio interface in one. A trimmed-down version of the ToneX Pedal, the ToneX One features the same renowned Advanced AI Machine Modeling™ technology and caters for modern guitarists who want to keep their setup compact yet fully adaptable. This powerful little stompbox allows you to save and call up as many as twenty presets, and serves up a whopping 212 different amplifier load-outs with or without reverb, noise-gate, EQ and compression.
Plug Into Your Amp, PA System or FRFR Cab
The IK Multimedia ToneX One can be set up in various ways. It can be combined with a laptop and used as a USB audio interface in combination with the ToneX (SE) software; connected to a tube amplifier and pedalboard rig for eased toggling between amp channels, amp models and effects; or simply set up as a modeller plugged into an FRFR speaker cabinet for some big air displacement and the most realistic playing experience. The choice is all yours.
Always-Saved Function
Thanks to the Always Saved function, you'll never lose any edits again. As soon as you tweak a setting, your current preset is immediately saved, which is great for quick on-the-fly preset adjustments in the middle of a gig. There's also a Safe Mode that prevents you from accidentally changing a setting while you're playing, and the ToneX pedal features a Global Cabinet Bypass function so you can turn off the internal cabinets at the push of a button to load custom IRs or blast your sound through your own FRFR cab. I agree with others that the software for the Tonex 1 is not the easiest to navigate. However the sounds that can be squeezed from this little beast are excellent. It competes well with my Kemper and imho, as long as you pick good profiles, (no need to pay for them, there are plenty of great ones on the Tonex website) it is far better than many other amp and cab simulators/ profilers I’ve tried (including Helix, Headrush, Boss etc). I have it in my guitar case along with a mini delay pedal as a spare rig and an occasional fly rig. Highly recommended.

Eindelijk een handzaam pedaal die superveelzijdig is qua geluiden. Ideaal voor in de studio en live gebruik. Er zijn gigantisch veel goede presets te downloaden via de Tonex software. Mijn grotere (Headrush) modeler gaat weg en deze is een waardige vervanger.

Je suis d'accord avec les autres avis - le logiciel n'est pas forcément le plus intuitif, mais ce petit bijou reste très puissant et fait tout dont j'ai besoin dans mon "mini rig". Je l'utilise pour la guitare électrique principalement, mais aussi l'acoustique, et en combinaison avec une pédale Xsonic j'ai accès facile au 20 presets et/ou l'opération des effets. A la maison, l'interface physique est suffisante malgré son minimalisme. En tout cas, je ne vois pas trop comment ils pourraient l'améliorer avec si peu de boutons, pas d'écran etc.!
Bref, c'est le son qui compte, et le son y est :)

een pedaal dat je gewoon moet hebben! voor zowel desktop/DAW gebruik of in de FX chain van je amp met 3 modellen (zonder cab sim dan). Waanzinnig goed wat ook betekende dat ik er de Xsonic Airstep TX voor bestelde...alle en nog veel meer mogelijkheden gewoon aan je voeten.... wat een dooddoener voor alle anderen. Het enige 'nadeeltje' is dat je vastzit aan LKMedia maar da's gratis met met meer dan 22000 captures van versterkermodellen....

Amazing little pedal, that can do lot, it even has a tuner. I use it as a compressor and chorus pedal for bass, with or without amp + cabsim depending on whether I use an actual amp or not. It sounds great, but it took me quite a while to get used to the software. You can't change the settings directly on the pedal when it's connected, but you have to reupload the preset every time. There's a huge collection of user-recorded impulse responses available for free. Hard to judge how faithful they are to the original, but you can clearly hear the differences between an SVT, SWR or Trace-Elliot for example.
It's not for you if you want to be able to switch between more than 2 different sounds, and needs a separate DI if you want to go straight to PA. If you use it for what it's built for, it works very well. Hopefully software updates will make it more intuitive.

Wat een enorme waarde krijg je voor je geld! Ik heb diverse low budget amp modelers geprobeerd en dit is absoluut de beste. Je moet wel een paar YouTube tutorials kijken om het apparaat en de software goed te kunnen bedienen, want de handleiding is te summier, maar de mogelijkheden zijn eindeloos! Ik heb inmiddels ook een aantal van mijn eigen amps gecaptured en de resultaten zijn verbluffend goed. Het is vooral verbazingwekkend hoe je bij een capture met een cabinet alsnog de cabinet uit kunt schakelen om een andere IR te kiezen of om door een power amp en cab te spelen. En met de aankomende gratis update krijg je er ook nog modulation en delay bij.

Als je van ingewikkelde software puzzels houdt een aanrader.. Installeren van en een product manager en Tonex software is pas het begin van de nachtmerrie. Dan met veel moeite uitvinden hoe alternatieve captures te vinden en naar het apparaat te downloaden. Dan de output? Line of instrument? Lijkt me alleen instrument out, niet erg maar zoeken zoeken. Instellingen van deze modellen kunnen niet via de software maar alleen met de kleine pielemoos knopjes. Geluiden lijken wel OK. Heb nu twee geschikte versterker modellen en een stomp gevonden die bevallen. Voldoet deze beperkte keuze je dan nergens meer aankomen zeker niet tijdens een gig ;-) Mag blijven als aanvulling op mij Line 6 stomp om wat DSP te sparen maar direct blij nee .....
