General
The classic and authentic DBX-grade compression of the immensely popular DBX 160A has been repackaged for our modern age. The DBX 560A is a VCA based compressor built to shape bright audio. Its characteristically sharp response makes it perfect for refining drums and percussion while its insane level of flexibility is more than capable to enrich vocals, bass, guitar, and so on. From sweet and subtle compression, to solid 'brick wall limiting', it's all offered, while the lunchbox format can be mounted neatly in a 500 Series rack.
The DBX 560A: OverEasy Compression
The OverEasy compression technique originated with the DBX 166 compressors and has been included here. Simply activate the OverEasy mode for a lower ratio and a more subtle compression that immediately pulls life out of the audio signal, filling it with dynamics and making it feel less flat. Since subtle compression is sometimes not enough, the 560A can be set to push the signal mercilessly when needed. When the Hard-Knee function is switched on, the difference between the original and compressed signal is made abundantly clear, and if you also use a high-ratio, this unit transforms into a limiter, protecting your input signal from damaging high peaks.
