General
Engineers the world over will wax lyrical about the old DBX 905, but since the 900 rack no longer exists, DBX offer up a refreshed version of a classic. The DBX 530 EQ has been made to measure for the 500 Series rack and provides all the same uncompromising three-band parametric equalisation as the 905. The filter width can be adjusted per band, frequency, and gain, and the first and last band can be switched between 'Peaking' and 'Shelving' EQ.
The DBX 530 EQ: Infinite Notch
The incredible precision offered by the DBX 530 is perfect for correcting small frequency-based stage or studio audio issues. Each band has been provided with an 'Infinite Notch' mode, so that surgically precise adjustments can be made using a narrow-pass filter, and since the three bands do not influence each other, the other frequencies can be used for shaping the tone. So that you can hear the full effect of this lunchbox sized EQ and refer back to the original signal, DBX have been kind enough to fit a bypass switch.
