This 5008B Lunchbox rack from API is the successor to the classic 6-slot Lunchbox. The 500 format was first used in the audio world by API. At first it was used for their modular mixing consoles but soon the demand arose to be able to use the modules separately. This made it possible to determine the contents of your rack yourself and thus be flexible in your choice of peripherals. As the name suggests, this rack offers space for eight 500 modules, which are supplied with a stable voltage by this rack. With this Lunchbox rack, you can bring your favourite peripherals to all productions.

API 5008B: ideal power supply for your modules

The price difference of the 500 modules compared to their 19-inch counterparts comes from the absence of a power supply. In a 500-rack system, the power supply is taken care of by the 500-rack, in this case the 5008B. The importance of power supply in audio equipment is very high. The more stable the power supply, even under load, the better the audio quality. API recognises this and supplies a high-quality external power supply with this 5008B rack. It supplies a positive and a negative 16 Volt and a separate 48 Volt for any phantom power. Your 8 modules are thus perfectly powered.

Application

The API 5008B rack is ideal for using different modules from different manufacturers. You have the option of combining well-known brands at your own discretion according to the sound you are looking for. At the rear, you will find balanced XLR inputs and outputs for each module. These are mounted at such a distance from each other that attaching cables is no problem at all. This rack is suitable for all 500-sized modules.
