What do you get if you take the SuperAnalogue channel of the SSL SiX and stuff it into a 500 Series module? That's right, the straight-up yet uber-powerful SiX CH channel-strip! Here, the built-in microphone preamp, equaliser and compressor can each be controlled using just a single knob and, since the 'SuperAnalogue' preamp is the same one found in the SiX and other mothership-sized consoles, you're assured of extremely low noise and a huge gain-range - the perfect preamp for any sound source with clean, fast and punchy sound.

Unbelievably Easy and Effective

In terms of EQ'ing, the Solid State Logic 500-Series SiX CH takes a beautifully simplified approach including a 2-band EQ with a high / low shelf at 3.5kHz / 60Hz and a gain range of roughly 15dB. Shelving and bell curves can be independently toggled per band, where the bell-curve changes the frequency centre and operates at 5kHz / 200Hz for increased flexibility as well as more control over the two fitted controls. The compressor section is just as straightforward and comes with a super-effective single pot, while the whole thing features a stereo jack line input for plugging in an instrument or setting the SiX CH up as a summing unit. Using the Hi-Z switch, you can immediately increase the standard 10kOhm nominal input impedance to 1mOhm so no DI box is needed for hooking up something like an electric guitar. How convenient!
