General

This microphone is the ideal solution for all professionals and semi-professionals that want to achieve optimal audio quality. Its capsule is based on that on the U87 and features a cardioid pickup pattern. The acoustics are well balanced and offer excellent attenuation of ambient noise coming from the rear of the mic. It's suitable for all manner of demanding applications - from home recording to professional broadcasting and commercial studio recording.

Acoustic properties of the TLM 103

The capsule has a flat frequency response up to 5 kHz, above which a wide flat 4dB boost is employed. The capsule has a large head grille to suppress handling noise, while an integrated pop shield attenuates popping and wind noises during vocal and speech recordings.

Electric large-diaphragm studio microphone properties

A newly developed large diaphragm has been installed into the microphone, allowing for an SPL of up to 138 dB without distortion - perfect for loud sound sources! Instruments that aren't loud also benefit form the very fast, noiseless response.

As the frequency range reaches below 20 Hz, you can even record very low bass signals without the sound colour suffering for it.

Kijk, ik heb een Gibson (studio) Les Paul. een zeldzame Rickenbacker, een 12 string Martin (Mexico), een F style Mandolin (Eastman), een Höfner Beatle bas, een Ierse banjo (in Ierland gekocht) een Spaanse dobro (in Spanje gekocht, een digitaal Hammond orgeltje, maar zo'n fantastische muzikant ben ik niet. Ik moet het meer van mijn zang hebben. Ik schrijf liedjes en neem ze op. Voor de moeilijke gitaarpartijen vraag ik mensen die echt gitaar kunnen spelen. Maar zingen doe ik zelf, ook vaak de tweede en derde stemmen. Koortjes. Ik ben er dol op. Zingen is voor mij het belangrijkste onderdeel van mijn liedjes. Helaas heb ik niet zo'n luide, dynamische stem. En heel raar eigenlijk zijn mijn microfoons altijd het sluitstuk van mijn 'instrumenten'. (ja naar een gitaar kan ik uren kijken, uren naar een microfoonkijken?). Stom, dacht ik ineens. Ik koop mooie instrumenten maar verder dan een Shure sm58 kom ik niet. WTF ik koop nu voor eens en altijd een super microfoon en dat werd de Neumann TLM 103. Nou, mensen, had ik dat maar jaren geleden al gedaan. Wat een sound, wat zingt dat fijn. Zacht zingen blijft dynamisch. Een s een t een n als laatste letter van een woord? Het staat gewoon duidelijk op de opname. Dus heren, dames, jongens meisjes en de hele lhtbi mikmak. Wil je je zang opnemen en bedoel je het een beetje serieus? Koop die Neumann TLM 103 en je bent klaar voor een echt mooie opname. Ik ga weer aan de slag met een nieuwe liedje.

100 % Het geld waard. Jaren lang opgenomen met verschillende goedkope microfoons. Voor elk functie kan je natuurlijk een andere mic gebruiken en alles kan werken. Tis namelijk ook leuk dat je mooi kan kleuren met de verschilllende mics. Maar dit is toch wel ff een hogere kwaliteit. Dat merkt je met de eerste paar opnames. Hij komt wel heel helder over. Misschien net iets te veel voor sommige applicaties. MAar overall een top microfoon voor als je net iets proffesioneler te werk wilt gaan.
